Gardening Group

Gardening_2_ Welcome to our Gardening Group!! Gardening_1_

The Gardening Group consists of women who are interested in gardens, gardening, learning, and sharing. We meet on the second Thursday of the month at a member’s home or at a gardening venue. Among other activities, we will tour garden centers and exibits, go to gardening events, have speakers, and enjoy each others’ yards.  Check your newsletter for information on the activity for each month.

February 13 – We will carpool to see Irene R.’s new home in Sun City.  We will see the movie “Dare to be Wild” and have a soup lunch with her.  Details will come later.

March 12 – This month, we plan to visit the Williamson County Agricenter Demonstration Garden in Georgetown to see examples of research-based horticulture techniques.

The demonstration gardens include raised bed and row vegetable gardens, a container garden, a rose garden, a drought tolerant garden, an herb garden, a fruit tree area, and a keyhole garden.

Please join us and we will carpool from the parking lot behind Schlotzsky’s at Balcones and 183. We plan to leave at 9:30. After we tour the gardens, we plan to eat lunch together at Sweet Lemon Kitchen in Georgetown.
