President’s Message

Dear NWN Friends,

Our October/November newsletter is the harbinger of the Fall.  Goodbye heat!  Hello cool weather and fun NWN activities! Our club continues to grow and thrive.  At last count we have 118 members with 8 new members joining since the last newsletter.

Welcome to all new members. We can’t wait to get to know each of you.

Recent luncheons have been a success.  In August we learned some interesting new facts about Texas Geology.  We live in a beautiful, interesting area created by the intersection of many geologic features.  In September we had 70 luncheon attendees, a record in recent years. They were no doubt drawn by our annual style show.  Nine of our beautiful member models were stunning in three outfits each.

Thanks to all of you glamorous gals!

Interest groups remain a wonderful way to develop deeper relationships.  With the addition of a few new groups, we now have fifteen!  Thank you to all our interest group chairs who devote themselves to our enjoyment.

Some news:

I am happy to announce a new Chair for Foodies, Patty D.  She has thoughtfully planned many fun events and is eager for you to attend. Kick off the Fall season by attending the upcoming apple tasting event.

Bunco had their first meeting in September. Shout out to chair, Earleen N., who handled us all with patience and humor as we tried to learn to play.  It was great fun!!

Walking Women will be resuming under the new chairmanship of Renee D. and Laura F.  See their article in the newsletter for information on the upcoming walks. The visiting is so much fun you don’t even notice that the miles fly by.  Pickleball will have had their first meeting in September at the Canyon Creek courts by this publication.  Maribeth W. and I will be the chairs.  Looking forward to some friendly competition and fun!

Sharon H. is chairing an exciting new Storytelling group.  She will share her experience as a trainer in the Spellbinders National Organization, giving us tips and tricks to share our stories. I look forward to mesmerizing our friends and families with our tales. Game Day is an upcoming new group headed by Amanda N. where various games will be played as determined by participants.  It will be on the third Saturday of the month from 2-5:00 PM.

Please mark your calendars so you can attend as many events as possible!

                                                             Yours in fun and friendship,

Marianna F.
